The TriMas Foundation is pleased to have hosted our 3rd
Annual Charity Golf Event on June 12, 2006. The purpose
of this event is to raise money in support of local charities
that provide outreach to children that are sick, disabled, abused,
or simply underprivileged. This year, the After School Learning
Center of Pontiac, Michigan was our primary beneficiary. In
the two previous events, through your support and our collective
efforts, we have donated more than $200,000 in support of our
mission.
The After School Learning Center is a program that provides
academic tutoring, educational enrichment and recreational programs
for children of economically challenged or distressed families
that are in the care of the Pontiac Lighthouse and for underserved
children in the Pontiac Public School System. Classes are held
three days a week at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield
Hills. This reciprocal collaboration is aimed at erasing boundaries
of difference and is staffed totally by volunteers.
